Meet our resident Boss Man, Co-Founder and COO, Brent Helvey.
With over 21 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, Brent co-founded Rise and Build Contracting with a commitment to quality craftsmanship, honesty, and lasting client relationships. Brent began his career following in his father’s footsteps installing hardwood floors from the age of 15 in Seattle, Washington. As time and experience passed, he was hired by Allied Construction, a general contractor that specializes in building schools. He continued to master his craft in general contracting and spent several more years in the trade until relocating to Idaho in 2019 with his wife and 3 sons. During this time, he founded Mission Contracting and continued his work in general contracting and expanding his trade and business skills sets.
With years of proven success in the construction industry, Brent Helvey has built a reputation for quality workmanship, integrity, and strong client relationships. Brent is taking his experience to the next level through a new partnership – combining expertise, vision and shared values to create a company built on trust and excellence.
Brent leads our operations team and is dedicated to delivering finished projects that exceed expectations, from custom remodels to renovations. His focus on communication, integrity, and attention to detail ensures every client’s vision becomes reality. When he’s not on the job site, he loves spending time with his family, serving in his church, and exploring Idaho’s great outdoors.
Meet our behind the scenes guy, Co-Founder and CEO, J.P. Mejia.
With over 20+ years of experience in business operations, supply chain management and business development, J.P. has extensive leadership experience as an entrepreneur and team-member of some pretty awesome companies. His academic background includes an MBA and B.S. from the University of La Verne, complemented by certifications in global procurement and supply chain management from UCLA, as well as human resources certifications from Cornell University.
Part of J.P.’s family are natives to Idaho, and he spent the majority of his summers in Emmett where he eventually lived for several years. In 2017, J.P., his wife and 2 boys permanently moved to Idaho where they continued to expand their family businesses. It was during this time that J.P. began to take on side projects with small renovations, house flips and land development. During that time, he developed a passion for the trades and working more with his hands then behind a computer.
J.P. is leads our strategic development of the company and its infrastructure. His focus is on bringing brand awareness to the local area along with scalable and sustainable growth to the business while keeping a fair and honest business to the local community. From marketing and systems, to finance and strategy, J.P. leads the internal team to ensure we help keep our costs of services fair, while not shorting the quality and craftsmanship of our end product to our customers.
If you were to ask him what his favorite past time would be, you will most likely catch him with his family out on the lake wake surfing, camping or on some other adventure outdoors. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, serving in his church and just being out doors.
